Jerez - Fez

A hard stage for everyone…
At the time of the takeoff, the crosswind is too strong. After some talks, the pilots obtain the right to takeoff on the taxiway! Wave flight is waiting for them on Gibraltar and the 40km of the strait are rapidly behind them.

In Morocco they are greeted by rotors… The 3 AS28 have a very bumby ride, disadvantaged by their large wingspan. Because of severe turbulences, some gliders are almost turned upside-down. The DG500 and DG800 manage to cross without using engine, but the 3 AS28 are not so lucky.

The second part of he flight is much nicer with ”blue” thermal.
On the cars side, the day is very long. Departure time in Jerez: 7am, arrival in Fez: midnight. Boarding in Gibraltar and arrival in Tanger. The driving in town is tricky because of the long trailers, as well as the boarding gate passing, which is much tilted because of a very low tide.
The driving in Morocco is rather stressing, especially in Tanger because of the heavy traffic, but everything went well.

Tomorrow the day starts at 7:30am for the drivers (another 4h30 sleep night!) The gliders should takeoff around midday, and head for Ouarzazate!
